Personal Accident & Accidental Medical Expenses
Q1. If my maid died as a result of accident while on home leave, can I make a claim under my Foreign Maid Insurance policy?
A1. Yes, you can. Our Foreign Maid Insurance provides worldwide accident coverage. The sum insured is $40,000 for Death and $2,000 for Accident Medical Expenses.
Q2. If I bring my maid for a medical checkup / General Practitioner consultation, can I make a claim under my Foreign Maid Insurance policy?
A2. Yes, outpatient treatments incurred for bodily injuries caused solely by an accident are covered under Accidental Medical Expenses. You should note that such claims are to be filed within 30 days from the date of the incident and are subject to the limit stated in the policy contract.
Q3. If my maid accidentally sprained her ankle and I brought her to a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Practitioner to seek treatment, is this claimable?
A3. Yes, the medical expenses incurred are claimable as long as the TCM practitioners are registered and possessed valid practicing certificates.

Hospital & Surgical Expenses
Q1. If my maid requires going for a day surgery, can I make a claim for the expenses incurred under Hospital & Surgical Expenses?
A1. Yes, you can make a claim under the Hospital & Surgical Expenses. This is provided that the day surgery is recommended by a Medical Practitioner in writing and is a result of Injury, Sickness or Disease covered under the policy.
Q2. If my maid is admitted to hospital for emergency surgery due to ectopic pregnancy ruptured, can I claim for the hospital bill?
A2. No, you will not be able to claim for such hospital bills as our Foreign Maid Insurance policy excludes any claim resulting from pregnancy and childbirth.
Q3. What is the difference between Accidental Medical Expenses and Hospital and Surgical Expenses?
A3. Accidental Medical Expenses covers the cost of treatment (including out-patient treatment) due to accidents only.
The cover under Hospital and Surgical Expenses is wider. It extends to medical expenses incurred as an in-patient of a Hospital resulting from illnesses or accident. Medical expenses incurred up to 90 days pre and post hospitalisation and day surgery are also covered under Hospital & Surgical Expenses.
Q4. If my maid is hospitalised, can I claim for wages compensation?
A4. You can claim for the pro-rated wages (including government levy on foreign domestic workers) for a period of up to 30 days. This is provided that your maid is hospitalised as a result of an accident or illness (excluding pre-existing condition).
Repatriation & Termination Expenses
Q1. If my maid died of bodily injuries or sickness and I need to repatriate her body back to her country, are the repatriation expenses covered?
A1. Yes, you can make a claim for expenses necessarily incurred in the event of your maid’s death resulting from an Injury, Sickness, Disease or suicide. This claim is subject to the limit stated in the policy contract.
Q2. When can I claim for Termination Expenses?
A2. In the event your maid suffers from prolong terminal or serious illness which prevents her from continuing her duties as a foreign domestic worker, you can claim for any expense incurred regarding her service termination. This is provided that the illness is diagnosed by a certified Medical Practitioner.

Q1. How do I make a claim?
A1. You can submit to us the completed and signed claim form with the required supporting documents via the following methods. Please visit our NTUC Income website to find out more about the required supporting documents.

Q2. How soon will my claim be settled?
A2. We will settle your claim within 14 working days after we receive all documents required.
For claims which require further clarification (e.g. Permanent disablement, information provided earlier is unclear), we will need more time to process your claim. For such cases, we will keep you informed.
